Moto Guzzi fans are few and far between in this country, but they’re a passionate group. Big bikes with lovely, torquey V-Twin engines, Guzzi is best known for cruisers and standard bikes. But the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 was a beautiful deviation from the norm.

Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 - Rear

Visually, the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 stood out from its Japanese competition because the proportions of plastics to engine made it look so low-slung and broad-shouldered – the middle linebackers of the sportsbike world. This is one of the earlier models, which comes with gigantic 40mm Dell’Orto’s instead of electronic ignition (denoted as the 1100i). The engine produced 90 horsepower and the 5-speed transmission was geared very tall, so you could hit nearly 140. This also means that when you’re in-town, you’re only really using 1st and 2nd. As a ’96 model, you’ll get plenty of upgrades to fix reliability issues that plagued the ’95 bikes. Specs include a straight-cut gearbox, Marzocchi M1 forks, WP rear shock, and an intake noise that will make you giggle every time you’ve got the throttle pinned.

Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 - Right Side

This specific Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 is being offered by someone who seems to have two of the model. It’s in good, original shape, with the exception of a broken tach and a Mistral Crossover installed to replace the catalytic converter. It’s a lovely shade of blue that immediately caught my eye, and the paint has held up well over just 8,466 miles.
