Post Sale Update: This Gixxer sold for $2,425 after 32 bids on eBay.

I genuinely did not believe that this was a factory-offered paint job at first. Maybe the 90s weren’t as great as I remembered.

Introduced in 1986, the Suzuki GSX-R 1100 was a speed demon’s dream thanks to 137 horsepower and a wet weight of 434 pounds. Even better, it was released right after the United States lowered the import tax on bikes above 700ccs to 24.4 percent (from over 39 percent), so it actually felt like bargain to American riders. But by 1996, the bike was considered old and fat thanks to new releases like the Honda Fireblade. The big Gixxer evolved incrementally, but the last updates were made in 1995 and everything until 1998 was just updates to paint liveries.

This example (VIN: JS1GU75A8T2101660) had just one owner before it went to the current seller, and it’s recently been given a service with a new clutch, brakes, and tires. The original airbox is included but this bike has a Yoshimura RS-3 exhaust. The sale includes the owner’s manual and a dyno slip from 1998.

Find this Gixxer for sale in Joppa, Maryland with bidding up to $1,320 (there’s no reserve but there is a $299 “document and prep fee” to factor in)
