9-16-18 Update: A few months later, Mazlow Petosa notes that this bike is currently available at Iconic Motorbikes with a better listing, more information, and a higher asking price. Find it for $7,445 in Marina del Rey, California here at Iconic Motorbikes.
This Laverda was acquired as a poorly-modified custom by a well-known collector in Los Angeles who then took 2 years to find parts so that he could bring this bike back to stock.
After Laverda filed for bankruptcy in 1992 and came back to life in Zane, Italy, they offered three models all around a 650cc motor. The race replica variant was called the Formula, and Laverda updated the model in 1997 with a 750cc motor and goodies like Marchesini wheels, Paioli suspension, and even a Nico Bakker designed-frame. They also offered an up-spec variant called the Sport Formula which got an upgraded ECU and cams. For more on this Laverda, check out this review on MCN.
This example has not been ridden since it was given a complete service, new battery, new tires, and a repaint. The seller claims that he’s spent almost $10,000 on this bike ‘but he knows the market is nowhere near’ that. The odometer shows just over 310 miles but the seller cannot confirm if that number is accurate. Find this Laverda for sale in Woodland Hills, California for $6,000 here on Facebook Marketplace.
