2017 Ducati Scrambler Icon Custom by GRIME

Post Listing Update: This custom Ducati did not meet reserve despite 27 bids up to $7,100 on eBay in Pacoima, California.

This was the first of a Ducati in-house customization called “Maverick”, in which the Italian firm asks “maverick artists” to customize the Scrambler. This was done by GRIME, who is apparently a celebrity tattoo artist that has a waiting list of three years. As I mentioned in my preview of the Mecum June 2018 auction, this bike was previously auctioned off for charity – it sold for $42,900. Now it’s back up for sale.

There’s obvious cosmetic work done (bodywork plus a paint job “inspired by the Italian National Soccer Team and angular 1980s motocross styling cues”) but there’s also mechanical upgrades like Andreani fork cartridges, Ohlins rear shock, custom Termi exhaust, and more.

It looks like this example (VIN: ML015ANM3HT010815) hasn’t been ridden since it debuted at the 2017 Handbuilt Motorcycle Show and was then auctioned at Mecum. Find this custom Ducati for sale in Pacoima, California with bidding up to $3,051 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay.
