2,750 Miles – 1968 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide

Post Sale Update: This Electra Glide sold for $27,400 after 68 bids on eBay.

In 1965, Harley changed the FL model line name from Duo Glide to Electra Glide as they introduced an electric starter. One year later, the FL got a 10% power bump with the introduction of the Shovelhead motor. Two years later, this beautiful example was bought at a dealership, and since then only 2,750 miles have been put on it.

The 74ci (1,212 cc) Shovelhead motor produced 60 horsepower and 70 foot-pounds of torque, which was enough to just flirt with a triple digit top speed. This example is being offered by the third owner and it has just 2,750 miles on it. THe seller claims it runs like new and that the cosmetics are excellent except for peeling chrome on the crash bar (the seller thankfully includes a picture of it). The original carb is included but it has been replaced with a S&S. The original “King Size” windshield is included as well. For some reason, all the pictures of the bike are with it on a trailer – and you can buy that as well for another $1,000 if you wish.
