I enjoyed my time with the new Suzuki Katana (did you see my First Ride Review), though I had serious reservations about the fuel range and the price. The range might be tough to fix, but here’s a barely-used example that you can pick up for a $3k+ discount off MSRP.
At it’s heart, the new Katana is a styling play based on the GSX-S1000. That also means that compared to other retro specials like the Z900RS or the CB1100, the Katana has a big power advantage: it produces 150 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 80 lb-ft of torque at 9,500 rpm. It’s deceptively comfortable as well, which is why I found it so disappointing that you’ll have to stop every 100 miles or so to look for gas.
This example has 422 miles – maybe the original owner got sick of the fuel range, too? If you can live with it and want a deal, find this Katana for sale in Big Bend, Wisconsin for $9,999 here on eBay.
