Last week I got the chance to ride a 1982 Suzuki Katana that would be going up on our auction site so I decided to get a little riding footage to show bidders that the motor was healthy. Here’s the clip if you want to watch/listen along!
Video Intermission – Dreamcycle Motorcycle Museum
As you likely know by now, I’m one of the owners of Iconic Motorbike Auctions. We have a few international divisions, one of which is in Canada (specifically, Sorrento, British Columbia) and it’s run by a wonderful gent named Mark Lane. In addition to handling things for Iconic up in BC, Mark has a motorcycle museum (Dreamcycle) and he runs …
Mini Racer – 2019 Honda Grom
Last month I went to an event at Honda’s HQ and I saw a Grom with Tyga’s full bodywork kit on it. Said kit costs about $2k (painted, before shipping), but here’s a barely-ridden example with the kit already installed for a similar amount of money.
Picture Intermission – 7/4/25 Ride
I hope you guys and gals got the chance to get some riding in on our country’s birthday! I went for a quick morning ride – here’s some of the cool vehicles I spotted:
Picture Intermission – The Planes of Inde Motorsports Ranch
As part of my event recap from the AHRMA race at Inde, I shared one of the many planes they had on site. A few people wanted to see more, and even though this isn’t a plane-focused site, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to enjoy some fighter jets on the 4th of July! Though I guess you may not see this …
Picture Intermission – 6/29/25 Sunday Ride
Here’s a quick look at the coolest bikes I saw on a quick Sunday ride out to the Rock Store! If you’re in the area this Sunday and want to join, I’ll be riding out to Wrightwood…
Picture Intermission – Honda Cars Bikes & Coffee 6/21
On Saturday I stopped by Honda’s campus in Torrance, California for a meeting – I’ve got a fun-but-secret project coming up that I can’t wait to share with you guys! The timing was great as Honda was hosting their “Cars, Bikes & Coffee” event that they put on every two months. Here’s some of my personal highlights from the event:
Deeley Exhibition – Norton-NSU Special
Another fantastic find in the Deeley Exhibition is this wild custom built by Mick King of Vancouver, Canada – it combines a Norton frame and a NSU automotive engine! It’s a crazy pairing but Paul d’Orleans of The Vintagent has a great story on this bike which you should check out, it explains why Mick had access to Nortons and …
Deeley Exhibition – CCM Lightweight De Luxe
It seems appropriate to continue sharing cool bikes from the Deeley Exhibition in Vancouver with Canada’s first motorcycle – the CCM Lightweight De Luxe!
Quail MotoFest – The Bimotas
Every year, the Quail MotoFest (formerly known as the Quail Motorcycle Gathering) features the same ten categories. They also have three rotating featured classes – this year the classes were: 1. Tribute to Yoshimura 2. Celebrating 45 Years of the BMW GS 3. The one I was most excited to see: Italian Innovation by Bimota
Quail MotoFest 2025 – The Winners
This weekend was the 15th running of the Quail MotoFest, which featured over 200 motorcycles and over 1,000 attendees! I had the pleasure of riding up and back from Los Angeles and will share some of my personal highlights soon – but let’s start with all of the class winners! Photos provided by Kahn Media Best of Show Award 1937 …
Bikes of AHRMA – 1975 Yamaha TZ750
There were a few standout bikes from my race at Willow Springs that I wanted to share but the post would have been way too long. So I’m going to call them out in individual posts. Let’s start with one of the bikes that competed – a ’75 Yamaha TZ750!
RIP – 20th Century Cycles
I was disappointed to recently find out that 20th Century Cycles, the personal collection of Billy Joel, is soon to be no longer. It looks like Billy is moving his bikes down to Florida so the building that they’ve been in since 2009 (which was previously a carpet store and then a child’s tumbling studio) is now going to find …
Video Intermission – Supersport at Barber Race #2
As discussed in my review of the Yamaha R9, the world of “Supersport” has changed dramatically. Gone are the days of inline-4 600s, now we’ve got twins/triples/fours with a variety of displacements. Something else I discussed in my review was my fandom of Josh Hayes, so it was very cool to see him pull off yet another win (and the …
Video Intermission – 2025 Handbuilt Show in Austin, Texas
On Saturday at the Handbuilt Show, I decided to take a little walk around the venue with my phone and film some highlights. Come follow along!
