Built over four years, the R51/3 was introduced in 1951. It was one of the first bikes BMW released after they were allowed to start creating motorcycles post WWII, so they took one of their pre-war designs and evolved it to prevent having to start from scratch.
Restored – 1976 BMW R90S
View Post1993 BMW K75S
You seemed to enjoy the cheap BMW K100RS tourer I featured a few days ago, so let’s follow that up with another cheap flying brick.
Nice Price – 1974 BMW R90S
This is a ‘rider’, not a show bike, but I think the $7,500 price reflects that just fine. I haven’t seen a good-running example of the R90S for this cheap in a while, but can you get over the faults?
2005 BMW R1200ST
The BMW R1200ST was the short-lived successor to the R1100RS/R1150RS. Considered by some to be one of the best sport-touring bikes ever made, this bike was an absolute commercial failure in the US. I’d pin that on two factors: first, this bike overlapped too much with the RT and the GS. Second (and more importantly)…it’s hideous. Just 554 were sold …
Cheap Tourer – 1985 BMW K100RS
I’m always trying to find attainable bikes to complement some of the more insanely expensive finds, and I think this sub $3k BMW is perfect for those of you looking for a sport-tourer with some 80s style.
1976 BMW R90/6 Cafe Racer
This R90/6 has been turned into a cafe racer – and it’s claimed to be a ‘true zero footer’.
1994 MZ Saxon Country
6-4 Update: This MZ is back up for sale, find it with bidding up to $1,025 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay. Post-Listing Update: This Saxon Country did not meet reserve as bidding only got up to $1,285. I love featuring models that I’ve never seen before, and this incredibly rare MZ Saxon Country fits the bill, …
Naked Speed TV – 1974 BMW R90S Custom
If you’re a Bike-urious regular, you’re well-versed on what made the R90S so special. That’s also why I’m curious to hear if you love or hate this custom build by Boxer Metal.
Giant Tank – 1970 BMW R75/5
I think the 10.5 gallon Heinrich fuel tank ruins the lines of this bike, but it’s hard to argue with the range capabilities of this restored BMW R75/5.
1975 Hercules Wankel 2000
View Post1991 BMW K75S Custom
I’m a big fan of the K75, especially as a platform for custom bikes. My current favorite would have to be the Renard Speed Shop build, which made me instantly regret selling my K75C as soon as I first saw it. Here’s another custom that I’m on the fence about…what do you think?
Paris Dakar or Bumble Bee? BMW R100GSes
Black and yellow or red and white? Here are two nice examples of the legendary enduro bike for similar prices and with similar equipment. What would you pick?
1957 Zundapp Super Sabre
Post-Sale Update: After being relisted, this Super Sabre sold for $2,155. I’m surprisingly pleased with the refreshing honesty of this seller, who notes that he “purchased this motorcycle with the intent of resale for profit, and no other plans.” It’s now up for sale with no reserve, so he’s putting his money where his mouth is!
1993 BMW R100GSPD
One of my favorite modern BMWs, the R100GSPD is all business. This example (VIN: WB1047907l6134111) has 75,000 miles and comes with some quality upgrades, like an aftermarket charging system and diode board, PIAA lights, Jesse luggage, Ohlins rear shock, Progressive fork springs, and more. The mileage isn’t low, but this bike could easily got another 75k without a major issue …
