This bike is going to need a lot of work, but examples of the OSSA 175 Sport do not come around very often. This bike is going to sell as bidding is low and there’s no reserve – let’s see who’s up for a rare Spanish project!
Old vs. New – 1975 & 2012 OSSA Explorers
In 1972, OSSA released the Explorer – a great name for the kind of riding the bike would be subjected to. The intent was to have a light bike that was easy to ride, something between an enduro and a trials bike. 40 years later, OSSA re-launched the Explorer with some new technology, but a similar intent. Here’s an example …
1 of 250 – 2014 Gas Gas ECR Factory 30 Aniversario
View Post1975 OSSA Phantom GP1
In response to Honda’s instant-classic Elsinore, OSSA released the 250cc Phantom, which weighed just 198 pounds.
Sammy Miller Replica – 1978 Bultaco Sherpa T 350
In 1964, Bultaco introduced their iconic trials bike, the Sherpa. For the first 8 years, only a 250 was offered, though in ’72 they introduced a 326cc engine and called that the 350.
1978 Bultaco Streaker
One of the most desirable models from the Spanish company, the Bultaco Streaker was a beautiful little cafe racer that was only produced for 3 years. Rumors suggest that just 28 were imported into the US before the EPA changed emissions regulations in 1979, effectively rendering this bike (and most other two-stroke highway vehicles at the time) illegal.
1965 Bultaco Metralla Mk2 Kit America
Post Sale Update: This Bultaco sold for $7,500 after just 1 bid on eBay. Spanish for ‘shrapnel’, the Metralla was one of the most famous motorcycles to come out of Spain. The regular Mk2 model is rare enough, but Bultaco also offered a “Kit America” – a race package with a different tank, tail, handlebars, and a tweaked engine that …
US Forest Service – 2004 Gas Gas FSE 450
Ask 10 different dirt riders who makes the best enduro and you’ll probably get 8 different answers. But apparently if you asked the US Government that question a decade ago, they would have answered with Gas Gas, the not-so-well-known manufacturer from Spain that started in 1985 by some ex-Bultaco distributors.
1974 OSSA Stiletto 250
I always found the fiberglass bodywork of the OSSA Stiletto to be such an odd choice. It’s obviously very interesting from a visual standpoint, but surely designers from the Spanish firm had to know the panels wouldn’t hold up well on motorcycles that were inevitably going to fall over multiple times?
1978 Bultaco Pursang 370
Bultaco’s MXer, the Pursang was produced between ’67 and ’81. This is the MK11 (out of 15), and it’s a custom restoration by Bob Wilbur.
1979 Bultaco Streaker
Post Sale Update: This Streaker sold for $4,800 after 31 bids on eBay. 9-15 Update: Reader Mike P (who bought this bike when I last featured it) notes that he’s now offering it for sale again as it’s too tempting for his 15 year old son and his buddies! Find it for sale in Lake Forest, California with bidding up …
Restored – 1968 Bultaco Metralla Mk2
One of my favorite motorcycles from this weekends Bonneville Vintage GP was a Metralla Mk2 racer – so here’s a street version for you to enjoy.
