Post-Sale Update: After being relisted, this Ducati Mark 3 450 sold for $7,495. The Mark 3 (particularly the 250) is considered by some to be one of the prettiest bikes ever made. When Ducati released their 450cc engine (the biggest of the bevel drive singles) in 1969, they also introduced the Ducati Mark 3 450.
Tricolor – 2010 BMW S1000RR
Since its introduction in April of 2008, the BMW S1000RR has been an incredible success for the German company, particularly raising interest in BMW motorcycles from a younger demographic. In 2010, the bike cleaned up in awards, winning Motorcycle and/or Superbike of the year from multiple motorcycle mags. I’m still waiting for an excuse to put one of these in …
Don’t Call It Pink – 2001 Triumph Speed Triple
Post Sale Update: This “Nuclear Red” Street Triple sold for $4,400 after 11 bids on eBay. If you ask Triumph, they’ll say they’ve never released a pink motorcycle before. Here’s Exhibit A in the counter-argument, a Triumph Speed Triple in a rare color that the English firm calls “Nuclear Red”. Doesn’t matter what it’s called, this is definitely pink – …
1984 Honda VF1000F Interceptor

1983 Honda CX650 Turbo
Post-Listing Update: This CX650T did not meet reserve with bidding up to $10,300. In 1982, Honda introduced its first production turbocharged motorcycle, the CX500T. The next year, they bumped up displacement to form the Honda CX650 Turbo. While Kawasaki, and Suzuki also offered turbo’d competition, Yamaha and Honda were the most successful from a commercial standpoint.
Street Titled – 1996 Honda NSR250R MC28
Honda’s NSR250R was sold from ’87 to ’99, and was pretty much the defining 250 racer replica over all those years.
800 Miles – 2004 Aprilia RSV 1000 R
Here’s a first year example of the base-model RSV 1000 R sportbike in the less common silver/red paint scheme. It has just 800 miles and looks great. Find this RSV for sale here at Windy City Triumph in Saint Charles, Illinois for $7,810 – though it should be noted it’s also featured on their facebook page for a much more …
1 of 390 – 1993 Ducati 888 SPO
The Ducati 888SPO was a limited edition of the 888 – only 390 were produced over two years. Featuring the trademark desmo valve V-Twin, this 888 produced 94 horsepower and were very much suited to track time.
310 Miles – 2006 Ducati Paul Smart
Post Sale Update: This Paul Smart sold for $22,100 after 14 bids on eBay. Alright, I know I feature too many of these, but can you really blame me? I’ll be brief this time – here’s an example (VIN: ZDM1WABPX6B001757) with just 310 miles. Usage wise, it’s basically new, but it comes with a Termi Shotgun slipon exhaust and Ducati …

No Reserve – 1967 BMW R69S
Post Sale Update: After 36 bids on eBay, this BMW sold for $13,100. The BMW R69S, produced from 1960 to 1969, was BMW’s sportbike of its day. With 42 horsepower, it was by far the most powerful bike BMW made at the time. You had to pay to play ($1,564 in 1966), but that extra money bought you one of …
Z-Rex – 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100
The Kawasaki ZRX1100 was a great example of a power cruiser – Cycle World called it the best Standard bike of ’99. 11 years later they called it one of their best used bikes thanks to 96 horsepower (good for a 0-60mph sprint in 2.9 seconds), comfortable ergonomics, and 80s Superbike looks. This example is claimed to be in mint …
1982 Honda CX500 Turbo
Post Listing Update: This CX did not meet reserve despite 11 bids up to $3,356 – it had been relisted after not meeting reserve with 14 bids up to $4,250. The predecessor to the CX650T, the Honda CX500 Turbo was a confusing bike. One of the first of the Japanese turbo bikes, I’m still not sure why Honda wanted to …
1984 Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts
A sought-after collectors bike in the US, the Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts probably needs no introduction. Only sold in the states from 84-85, these were the first bikes in the US to come equipped with catalytic converters and the first Yamaha street bike in the US to use a perimeter frame.
The Commander – 1968 Kawasaki W2 650SS
Post-Listing Update: This Kawasaki W2 650SS did not meet reserve at $5,000. The bigger brother of the W1 (a name which Kawasaki would eventually bring back), the Kawasaki W2 650SS was also known as the Commander.
