Post Listing Update: This Monster did not get any interest at the BIN of $18,500 on eBay.

Built by Moto Corse Performance in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, this Monster 797 was campaigned in the Twins Cup of Moto America’s 2019 season.

Per the seller, this Ducati (VIN: ML0MADBM0JT000800) was raced by Michael Barnes (Daytona 200 winner) and it started off strong with a double podium in the first event. However, “the spec fuel required across the series turned out to be a progressive problem for an air cooled engine. Even after reducing compression to stock specs from the start, the bike suffered detonation problems and proved to cause enough DNF’s to lose the chance of a championship. Michael was still able to salvage third in the Championship despite the fuel related problems. I’m explaining that due to speculation of why the bike had issues. When running on proper race fuel such as VP C12 it is 100% reliable and makes great power.

The motor was fresh at the end of the Moto America season (Barber in 2019) and was raced at 3 events in CCS and AHRMA since. Highlights of the work included Ohlins 30mm cartridge fork kits, Ohlins suspension, OZ forged aluminum wheels (stock included), custom bodywork, custom front subframe, Dynojet with Quickshifter, Brembo master cylinder, Woodcraft case guard on right side (custom unit on the left), Woodcraft rearsets, and engine work that included Pistal pistons and porting by Moto Corse, with a Moto Corse custom 2 into 1 exhaust. The bike has never been down and is still on the MSO.
