I was excited to hit 80k miles on my BMW K1200R on the my ride up to the Quail today. Then I saw this bike, an original owner R1100S BCR that’s about to hit 100k! It’s not a small number but it’s a fair assumption that the seller has taken great care of his bike over the last 12 years. …

This one’s not as easy as it looks at first glance – it’s time for another round of Guess That Bike!
One Owner – 1966 BMW R50
Post-Sale Update: This R50 sold for $8,277 after 23 bids on eBay. This R50 was a birthday present from the seller to himself back on May 4th, 1966. In his words, ’50 years later it’s time to let someone else enjoy it.’ He acquired it from Miller Cycle Shop in Palmerton, Pennsyvlania, who installed the large touring fairing as well.

Factory Reconditioned – Janus Halycon 50
The Halycon 50cc is a 2-stroke 50cc that is obviously inspired by what bikes looked like in the 20s and 30s. Thanks to 9.8 horsepower and a six-speed transmission, you’ll be able to hit 55 miles per hour and get 60 miles per gallon.

Guess That Bike Revealed – Mislabeled Edition
While many readers were able to identify that this was a Matchless (and some saw that it was a twin), special congrats go to Cas Vanderwoude, as he was the first to specifically identify that this is a G9.
Rolling Sculpture – 1954 Moto Parilla 150 Sport
This is an ex-Michael Harper Smith bike that was sold at an auction in January of 2013. The person who bought it at the time then put it in his apartment as an art piece and has apparently never started it. Hopefully you can keep it pretty but also put some miles on it.
Well Modded Single – 2014 KTM Duke 690
When KTM updated the Duke to a 690 in 2008, it gained crazy robot alien styling that I thought fit the bike’s personality quite well. It’s stayed at 690cc since, though the styling has mellowed out a bit. These bikes are known to be a lot of fun, but this example stands out thanks to some quality modifications.
Unexpected Project – 1955 Ariel Square Four Chopper
Post-Sale Update: This Ariel chopper sold for a best offer of $6,599. Ariel’s Square Four engine is a thing of beauty, but it’s rarely used in custom builds. Here’s one of those rarities that needs some work before it gets back on the road.

Post-Sale Update: After 16 bids on eBay, this BMW/Steib hack sold for $16,000. Built over four years, the R51/3 was introduced in 1951. It was one of the first bikes BMW released after they were allowed to start creating motorcycles post WWII, so they took one of their pre-war designs and evolved it to prevent having to start from scratch.
Sub $10K Salvage Title – 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure
The reason for the rebuilt title on this KTM seems a little dubious, but for this price I’d say this bike is worth a closer look.

Here’s a bike for the little one in your life. Licensed by Ducati, this Peg Perego electric bike has a 12V battery and it’s capable of supporting 60 pounds of misbehaving child.
