Reader Beale noticed an interesting Honda 3 wheeler that was in the background of a photo in a recently featured Honda S90. I cannot figure out what it is…do any of you recognize it, or is it some sort of homebrew vehicle?
Restored – 1986 Can-Am ASE 250
Introduced in 1984, the ASE (Aircooled Single Shock Enduro) was the imaginatively-named results of an agreement between Can-Am and Armstrong/CCM for the latter to build Can-Am’s in England. It did not sell well.
V-Twin Jet – 2003 Harley-Davidson VROD Custom
Here’s the perfect bike for when you need an extra dose of patriotism…a Harley VROD that’s been given fiberglass bodywork and custom paint to make it look like a jet.
1957 Harley-Davidson KR750
The successor to the WR and the last of Harley’s side-valve racers, the KR750 was built between ’52 and ’68. A race bike that you could buy straight from the dealer and then tweak to your needs, the KR might have been relatively low-tech even for the time, but it won the AMA Grand National Championship series 12 out of …

View PostRestored Cafe in Canada – 1983 BMW R80S
Now, did you think I made a typo with the “80” or the “S”? Either way, BMW never made a R80S, but this former R80RT has been converted to look like one, thanks to custom touches like this rear badge:
1978 Carabela MotoPony Formula
Made in Mexico, the Carabela MotoPony was a 60cc two-stroker that was the first ride for plenty of Mexican riders. This is a “Formula”, which got a sweet set of bodywork, to boot!
One Seller, Several Classic Hondas
Someone’s got a series of classic Hondas up for sale. One one hand, they’re not super-exciting and they’ll need a little work. One the other hand, there’s no reserve, so you might be able to get a steal. All the bikes are being described in a similar way: haven’t been run in a few years and have been in dry …
“Unbeatable Gas Mileage” – 2005 Yamaha Virago 250
Yamaha’s 250 Virago cruiser was already capable of nearly 80 miles per gallon from the factory, but with this insane fairing, the sky’s the limit.
Highly Original – 1977 SWM RS 250 GS
Post Listing Update: This SWM did not sell at the BIN of $5,100. Possibly the best name in motorcycling history is Speedy Working Motors – and they’re back (though who knows if they’ll ever make it to the US). Until then, you can get a taste of their old enduros with this SWM RS 250 GS.
1935 Velocette MSS
A tiny British manufacturer, Velocette was a family-owned firmed that was well-known for creating high quality bikes. With 3 decades of successful international racing experience, and (still-standing) record for a single-cylinder bike running 24 hours at 100 miles per hour, they brought many technical innovations to the world, including a swingarm rear suspension with hydraulic dampers. One of their more …
Best of Show – 1982 Honda CB900F
Available for just two years in the US, the CB900F Super Sport was made famous by Fast Freddie Spencer in Superbike racing. This example got a cosmetic refresh which helped it win Best of Show at last year’s Pagoda Show at the Indianapolis MotoGP. It sure is pretty.
