1970 Benelli Volcano

Here’s something you shouldn’t be able to wrap your mind around: a minibike that’s capable of hitting 56 miles per hour! Who knows what the blokes employed by Benelli were thinking at the time, but they shoved a 180cc two-stroke engine into a minibike frame. At least one thing they did made sense – they called it the Volcano!

Benelli Volcano - Right Side

The US got just 200 examples, all of which were imported by Cosmopolitan Motors. This example has just over 500 miles but it’s not in great shape. Good news – it still has the original tool kit. Bad news – it’ll need a throttle cable and the fuel tank is dirty. Hopefully a little bit of work will get you one of the most bonkers motorcycles of all time.
