Post Sale Update: This CL175 sold for $3,250 after 94 bids on eBay in Mentor, Ohio.

Honda’s successor to their popular 160cc twin was the 175, which was offered in CB, SL, and CL variants. This one-owner example of the CL comes with a level of paperwork that I almost never see!

For more on the CL175, check out this Retrospective from Rider magazine. I’m a big fan of this specific example (VIN: CL175-6017067) because of the history – it’s a one owner bike, purchased by a Mrs. Fay E. Downing of Britton, Michigan from Seigel’s Honda in Monroe, Michigan in September of 1971. She then rode it 3,712 miles, though it’s unclear when she stopped riding.

Everything is said to work thanks to rebuilt carbs, but what really makes this CL stand out for me is the included paperwork: the original title, owner’s manual, sales invoice, sales brochure, sold tag, original registration, original warranty card, and the original insurance policy. On top of all of that, it’s got the never-opened warranty information still in a sealed Honda envelope! It’s a great collector’s piece!
