Post Sale Update: this Hodaka sold for $1,504 after 37 bids on eBay in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Debuting in 1964, the Ace 90 was Hodaka’s first model. The company made it a priority to upgrade parts throughout production in a manner that allowed owners of older models to easily upgrade their bikes, as well. Between 1964-1970, Hodaka sold over 24,000 examples of the Ace 90 and 100.

Motorcyclist summed it up beautifully: “The Ace 90 was more than a revelation; it was a bike very much ahead of its time. It was midsize physically, meaning adults and kids alike could fit on it. It was light, had decent suspension front and rear, and handled pretty well on road or off. Although not fast, it was a true do-it-all machine, like the best dual-sports of the 1970s, and it sold like cold beer at a summer ballgame, all for around $350.”

This example (VIN: A10740) is said to be a nice example that’s ready to ride as is or would make a good base for a restoration. The seller notes that it’s not perfect – there’s “messy wiring”, a dent in the tank, and a couple of scratches. The odometer shows 1,709 miles. It comes with a title but the seller’s not convinced that the year is correct.
