After the classic 750GT of the 70s, Ducati looked to evolve with a simpler engine, and they ended up with the first ‘square case’ bevel twin – the 860 GT. It was a commercial flop, so just a few years later, the Ducati 900 SD Darmah was released, and it was a much better sport tourer. The SD (Sport Desmo) brought commercial success, and even resulted in a sportier version called the 900 SSD. This example has been sitting for a little bit, the seller says it will need a tune up and it’ll be ready to go. Do you believe him?

This example (VIN: 900564) has 6,643 miles and the seller claims it’s a “perfect US specification” example. Apparently it is one of just 20 US spec Darmahs built in 1978. It’s being offered by the third owner, who says the bike was “cosmetically restored to a high standard some time ago.” It features the original Campy wheels, Ceriani forks, Marzocchi shocks, and Brembo brakes. It also has the optional Conti mufflers.
