Apparently inspired by the Yamaha XS650 Special, the Triumph T140D Bonneville Special was an exercise in styling that also introduced a few features that were incorporated into future Bonnies.

New features that eventually became part of the T140E include a modified grab rail and a top-mounted rear disc caliper. The styling features included black paint with gold pinstriping, 7-spoke Lester mags, a 2-into-1 exhaust, polished fork sliders, and a couple of other smaller things, all designed specifically for the US market. Approximately 500 units were built. For more information on the T140D Bonnie Special, check out this write-up from Real Classic.

This specific Triumph T140D Bonneville Special has only 135 miles and is claimed to run great. It has new brake lines and a master cylinder and it looks good despite the low-res photos.
