Over a long and illustrious history, BMW has built the definitive example for many classes of motorcycles, such as how they created the adventure bike with the R80GS. The R100RS is another example, as it is a masterpiece that formed the baseline of what a sport touring bike could be.

R100RS production spanned two generations. The first one was from 1976 to 1984, followed up by another one from 1986 to 1996. When it was released, it was a revolution. It was beautiful, futuristic, sophisticated, powerful, and comfortable. The design was particularly futuristic with the huge fairing that protected the rider from anything mother nature could offer. Equipped with the famous air-cooled twin boxer engine developing 70 hp, the bike could fly at speeds higher than 120 mph. With a good fuel consumption (50mpg), the R100RS is the ultimate classic sport touring bike. Plus, if well maintained and tuned, the engine can take you anywhere even today. This example is said to be in excellent condition with a beautiful grey paint job. With only 24k miles, this R100RS is a real survivor and it still even has its original stickers. The bike is mainly original with just small upgrades where needed, including a Brown side stand, Tarozzi fork brace, Spiegler braided brake lines, and Progressive suspension front and rear. The bike also comes with two sets of luggage – Integral cases (from later models) and the optional narrow City bags.
