The Ducati 900 MHR (Mike Hailwood Replica) was built to commemorate Hailwood’s success in the 1978 Isle of Man TT. The bike was initially produced solely for homolgation reasons – just 200 were built in 1979. It was so popular that Ducati kept selling them – eventually about 7,100 were sold. Basics include a 72 horsepower, 863cc V-Twin with a 5-speed gearbox and a top speed of 137 miles per hour.
This example (VIN: DM900R903137) is claimed to be in very good shape and is being offered by the 3rd owner, who has had it since 1999. The only issues seem to be a small delamination in the seat and an ‘access portal’ that was cut by the original owner in the lower left hand fairing. The seller has always run aftermarket air filters but the originals are included.
