1983 Laverda RGS 1000 Executive

In Italy, Touring by AbhiLeave a Comment

A true sport tourer, the Laverda RGS one of the last manifestations of the big triple, though it was much tamer than the beloved Jota unit thanks to different crankshaft timing and rubber engine mounts. Some felt that the engine lost a bit of character in the process, but it became a much easier bike to tour on – especially with the half fairing. Some dealerships offered an “Executive” package, which included hard bags, extra wind protection, and taller bars, and that’s what we’ve got for you today.

For more on the non-Executive RGS, check out this story on Motorcycle Classics. This example has 39,746 miles on the odometer and it’s said to start and run without a hitch despite having been stored for a year. The seller is letting it go as he is having eye surgery, noting that it would benefit from new rear shocks. The sale includes the original vinyl liners for the saddelbags.
