Post Listing Update: This FXRP did not get any interest at the BIN of $10,900.

The FXR was an important model for Harley in their quest to show the world that they were still relevant after buying out AMF’s ownership interest. One way they tried to compete with the Japanese was to counter the dominance of the Kawasaki KZ1000 in police forces with the FXRP.

For more on the FXR, check out this profile from Hot Bike – they note that even 3 decades after the bike was introduced, there are many Harley aficionados who think this was the best machine H-D ever built. Or check out Police Motor Units for a period magazine article and advertisements.

This example (VIN: 1HD1EDL11FY116317) shows 18,064 miles on the odometer and it’s being offered by a man/woman of few words. They note that it is in “almost complete original condition”, plus it “runs great and needs nothing, everything works properly.”
