For the money, this might just be one of my favorite posts on Bike-urious in the last several months. Just $3,200 will get you a very capable, VERY rare bike that you could use daily if you wanted to.
I’ve posted a few Baghiras in the past – those were definitely more popular but that was supposed to be a dual-purpose bike while this is a supermoto. Both are based around the engine from a Yamaha XT660, complemented by a WP shock and Marzocchi forks. The Mastiff also features Brembo brakes, Excel wheels and Acerbis bodywork (how’s that for a supporting cast?). I much prefer the almost Tonka toy like styling of the Mastiff. In their review, MCN summed it up quite well: “The MZ Mastiff is solidly-built and with looks that could launch nuclear missiles, “aggressive” just about sums up the Mastiff. However, it’s a great road bike, easy and huge fun to ride. Perfect pulling power for townies or twisties and tough enough to withstand abuse and the elements. Pleasantly unusual, too. It’s a goodie.”
