The Ducati Desmosedici D16RR might just be the greatest sportbike to ever come out of Italy. The RR stands for Racing Replica, and it was a limited production (just 1,500 examples) version of the Desmo MotoGP racebike piloted by Casey Stoner in the world’s greatest motorcycle race series.

If you want to know what this bike is like, I’ll send you right to MotorcycleUSA to hear it from two of the few people that ever ridden one. 197 horsepower, 377 pounds, and 191 miles per hour tell quite a story, but I can’t feature the Desmosedici without giving you the opportunity to hear how wonderful it sounds. Skip to 1:25, turn your speakers up, and enjoy:

This specific Desmosedici (VIN: ZDM1ZDFWX8B000248) has 6,073 miles and is one of the ‘Rosso’ version which doesn’t have the large white stripe on the fairing, just the white number ‘plates’ on the tail. It’s number 248 of 1,500 and has an extended warranty that’s good for another month.
