AMA National 250 Winner – 1998 Yamaha TZ250

This was the bike that Chuck Sorenson won his first (of 3) AMA National 250GP Championships with – and it’s still probably one of the fastest 250cc motorcycles on the planet. Feeling brave?

This bike (VIN: 4TW-001141) comes as it competed, including an impressive package of factory spares. After the bike took the championship, it was acquired by James Siddal – the owner of World Sports Imports and Super Plush Supension. In 2003, James sold it to the current seller. During this time the bike was serviced by Perry Melneciuc to ensure that it was in race spec. Then the bike was drained of fluids and put into storage.

The equipment on this is absurd. In the seller’s words: “The motorcycle is completely outfitted with very rare and otherwise unobtainable parts. Almost every single nut, bolt, axle and pivot is either titanium or aluminum. Forks and shock are the state of the art (for the time) Ohlins. Expansion chambers/pipes are factory “A” kit titanium. Wheels, are five spoke Marvics.” Plus you get a huge spares set which includes another set of bodywork, engine components, factory racing transmission kit, Ohlins springs, tire warmers, etc. The only flaw seems to be a split in the right aluminum clipon, but otherwise this bike is ready to enjoy.
