Officially, Ducati called this special grey/white/red paint scheme Titanium Grey, but Ducati fans have called it something slightly different over the years. They call it the “Semi Senna”, as it harks back to the officially licensed Senna 916 from the mid 90s. The 748S variant was not official, however it was limited: just 250 examples were built, 200 of which …

544 Miles – 1971 DKW 125 Enduro
Originally named the Sachs 125, the DKW 125 Enduro earned its titled after DKW and Sachs merged in the 60s. It ended up becoming one of the first baby MX bikes that took off in the US, as it compared well against the Kawasaki Green Streak and Hodaka Ace. It was a reliable package (though the Sachs unit apparently yielded …

Unexpected Motor – 1986 Porsche 928S Powered Trike
Porsche has gotten involved in motorcycle engine design before – they were brought on to help develop the Revolution motor for Harley-Davidson’s V-Rod back in 2002. That liquid-cooled motor developed a very non-Harley number of 120 horsepower, and that might be what inspired the creator of this crazy build to build a trike around a different Porsche motor – the …

Post Listing Updates: The Chrome Edition did not meet reserve despite 32 bids up to $4,900. The other two were pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown. While Honda’s Z50 was fairly common, there are a few rare models. A seller in Coventry, Rhode Island has 3 of them, and they all look fantastic. Which would you choose?
Impressive Clone – 1971 Rupp Black Widow
Rupp Industries was based in Mansfield, Ohio, and for nearly 20 years they were able to compete with Honda and other Japanese manufacturers for a share of the lucrative mini bike market. Their top-of-the-line competition bike was the Black Widow, which was based on the Roadster/2. This example is also based on the Roadster, because it’s unfortunately only a replica.
Restored – 1975 Honda Gold Wing GL1000 K0
I’m still working on my review of the newest entry into the Honda Gold Wing family, but here’s the opposite end of the spectrum – the first year of the legendary touring line. This example was given a “ground up restoration” and it looks excellent.
Buford – 1975 Honda Gold Wing GL1000 K0 Custom
I’m working on my review of the 2018 Honda Gold Wing, which is why I had to feature this crazy custom from the first year of Wing production. Named “Buford”, this interesting Gold Wing custom has nearly covered 500,000 miles…and it’s covered by 10 square feet of Icelandic goat fur. Now that’s a sentence I never thought I’d type out …
