Post Sale Update: After being relisted a hefty 13 times, the price on this custom 860 finally came down low enough for someone to show interest. It sold for a BIN of $9,995. Here’s a 860GT that’s been given a paint scheme to look sort of like a Vincent. Cute homage or tacky aftermarket paint – you tell me. The …
One Owner – 1994 Ducati 900SS/SP
Here’s a lovely example of the 900SS/SP that’s being offered by the original owner, who apparently had a difficult decision deciding between this or a 916. He correctly decided that this would be much more comfortable for street riding duty, and it’s destined to be a future classic (if it isn’t already one now.)
The California Hot Rod – 1974 Ducati 750SS
Post Listing Update: The California Hot Rod was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown. 2-8 Update: Bidding got up to $250,000 but did not meet reserve, so the seller has relisted it with an opening bid of $250,000 here on eBay. It’s finally happened – I get to feature a bike with a serious asking price of 7 …
1966 Ducati Sebring 350
When it was introduced in 1966, the Sebring 350 was the biggest bike Ducati sold to the public. This bike was named after Franco Farne’s class win at a race at Sebring International Raceway.
2002 Ducati MH900 Evoluzione
I realize it’s kind of an odd thing to say with a bike that costs just under $20,000, but this is one of the lowest prices I’ve seen for a MH900e in a while.
1972 Moto Guzzi Ambassador
Post-Sale Update: This Ambassador was snagged for the BIN of $5,000. Produced for just a few years, the Ambassador was never as well known as bikes like the Eldorado (which replaced this bike). Built to target the American market, MG saw a way to compete with Harley with a 757cc variant of the venerable V-Twin.
1975 Laverda SFC Electronica
Even the “base” SFC 750 is a legendary bike, but near the end of production, it got just a little bit better with the Laverda SFC Electronica. It was named for the incorporation of Bosch electronic ignition, but that wasn’t the extent of the modifications.
1974 Benelli 175 Enduro
Available only between 1971-1974, the Benelli 175 Enduro was a well-built dual-sport with plenty of chrome.
2007 Ducati GT1000 SportClassic
An instant classic, the Ducati GT1000 matches an excellent 992cc 2V engine with retro styling. Here’s an example in the rare Black and Cream paint scheme with just under 2,000 miles on the odometer.
1966 Benelli Fireball
Post-Sale Update: This Fireball sold for just $760 on eBay. Confusingly also known as the Montgomery Wards 450SS, the Benelli Fireball was a 50cc scoot with rectangular styling. This example has just 1,648 and everything is claimed to work. The bike is entirely original except for a ‘newer’ paint job, throttle grip, and inner tubes. The bike has new crank …
2002 Foggy Ducati Monster
If you’re looking at the number of championships and individual race wins, Carl “Foggy” Fogarty is the most successful racer to ever rule in World Superbike. In 2002, Italy’s most famous motorcycling firm released the Ducati Monster S4 Fogarty Edition, to honor Foggy himself with a limited run of 300 bikes.
1998 Laverda Ghost Strike
Talk about a fantastic name for a motorcycle. The Laverda Ghost Strike is one of the many variants the Italian firm pushed out in the late 90s that were powered by either the 650 or 668cc parallel twins. Laverda actually offered a Ghost and a Strike as separate models, the former a trellis-framed naked bike, the latter a perimeter-framed naked. …
1989 Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 Series V
Moto Guzzi learned from their mistake of putting a 16″ front wheel on the Mk V Le Mans, so the Mk5 went back to the usual 18 incher. Many other small but helpful improvements came together to form the last generation of Le Mans’, in a very color-matching design.
Company Killer – 1998 Bimota V-Due
The V-Due is one of the most interesting things that ever came out of Bimota. It came out to tremendous fan-fare as the first two-stroke with fuel injection – yielding a greater power to weight ratio than anything else available on the market. But the fuel injection was awful, and the bikes were incredibly difficult to ride. Combine that with …
1958 Mondial Sprint 175
The (FB) Mondial Sprint 175 was one of the few street bikes developed by the niche Italian manufacturer. Specializing in high performance, small displacement bikes, FB Mondial hand built most of their motorcycles, resulting in production numbers between just 1-2 thousand a year.
