According to the seller, this is the bike that Doug Henry campaigned in the AMA Supermoto Championship seasons of 2005 and 2006 (he placed 2nd in 2006). I’d want to see some proof of that, but the photos show a serious level of kit.
Dual Sport Conversion – 2009 Kawasaki ER-6n
Finding a ER-6n in the US is already difficult considering how poorly they sold. But if you really want to stand out, here’s one that’s been converted into a dual-sport. The builder’s goal was to make the bike look OEM, and he hasn’t done a bad job with it. Would you ride it?
“ADV Cafe Scrambler Tracker” – 1984 Honda VFR700
Built to mock the stereotypes of biker builds that have taken over in some circles, this ridiculous Honda allows you to “grab your flannel, beard oil and PBR and get a taste of the NW moto scene astride one of the most unique and tastefully constructed steeds you will ever lay your eyes on.” Ever ridden a bike with a …
Built to Teach – 1990 Honda CB125T
Post Sale Update: After 33 bids on eBay, this CB125T sold for just $601. For just one year, Honda made 2,000 examples of a 125cc twin specifically designed for US rider’s education schools. They were built without VINs so they should not be street legal, yet this example is claimed to have a VIN…
Rare Fairing – 1983 Yamaha XV500 Virago
Post Listing Update: This Virago did not meet reserve with 13 bids up to $820. The Virago was Yamaha’s entry into the V-Twin cruiser market. It debuted in 1981 with a 750cc engine but Yamaha soon added 900cc and 500cc versions – here’s one of the latter that’s equipped with a rare factory Yamaha X-1 front fairing.
Rare in Red – 1966 Honda CB450
It’s like a Zen Koan: Is a motorcycle truly rare with a serial # of 29,xxx? It may be. I am very familiar with the CB450 ‘Black Bomber’, I seriously wanted one at the time. Every CB450 shipped to the US in 1966 was black, and was called the ‘Black Bomber’. Except for less than 500 white ones which were …
1993 Honda CBR900RR
Years from now, pristine early Fireblades will bring silly money at the big bike auctions. One of the most important sport bikes of the 90s, it changed expectations of the market by coming in at an insane 76 pounds less than its lightest competition. It weighed just 4 pounds more than its little brother CBR600F2. As Motorcycle News puts it, …
The Dream – 1968 Honda CA160
In 1968 there was a welter of motorcycles available to all. It really was the start of the popular revolution fueled by MILLIONS of motorcycles from Japan. The CA160 was near the top of the line for Honda, and it wasn’t a Benley (though it looked the part). It was officially the CA160 Dream and Honda said it was a …
1986 Honda Helix Custom
A cheap Honda with custom seats and a body kit? It’s the Fast and Furious of scooters!
1 of 101 – 1983 Bimota HB3
Post Listing Update: This HB3 did not meet reserve despite bidding up to $8,950. Another rare and exquisite bike from Massimo Tamburini, the HB3 was Bimota’s third model with a Honda engine. This time around it utilized the air-cooled four cylinder from a CB1100F. 101 examples were produced (43 with a half fairing and 58 with a full fairing). Here’s …
Vintage Racer – 1974 Kawasaki H2 Mach IV 750
Post Listing Update: This Kawi was pulled off of eBay because it was “lost or broken.” Bah. This H2 was built up as a hot street bike in the past, however 6-7 years ago it was decommissioned and put on display. The seller was planning on modifying the bodywork and putting it back on the street, but he’s got too …
Show Condition – 1978 Yamaha DT250
Post Sale Update: This DT sold for $5,302.02 after 41 bids on eBay. Claimed to be in outstanding show condition, this classic dual sport looks great in Brilliant Orange and Satin Black after the bodywork was repainted and the frame was refinished. Everything is said to work, and while the seller was planning on keeping this bike forever, his family …
Unexpected Chopper – 1973 Honda CB350F
This is a little weird, but I appreciate that it’s a period chopper – according to the seller, this ’73 CB was converted into a chopper in 1974. The seller acquired it from the first owner and he’s got the original fork tubes if you want to bring it back to stock (but if you want a stock example, just …
Ending Soon – Restored 1972 Yamaha RT2 360
Here’s a recently restored example of one of Yamaha’s iconic enduros – the RT2. Featuring the Autolube oil injection system and a 32 horsepower, 351cc engine, the RT2 was capable of covering pavement and dirt.
2001 Honda XR650R Supermoto
The seller of this bike has a little trouble taking good photos, but that shouldn’t stop you from taking a closer look at what will be a hell of a fun bike.
