Post Sale Update: This XS sold for $4,050 after 35 bids on eBay in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, however the deal fell through. Interestingly enough, it was relisted for a BIN of $8,000 on eBay and it seems to have sold again. The Yamaha XS650 was introduced in 1970, though it wasn’t until the end of the decade when Yamaha created a …
Original Owner – 2000 Aprilia RSV1000 Mille R
Offered by the original owner, this RSV Mille R is one of the nicest examples I’ve seen of the breed with good photos and an excellent description – I wish all listings were like this!
1 Mile – 1992 Kawasaki ZX-7R
Post Sale Update: This ZX-7R sold for $29,960 including buyer’s fee on Iconic Motorbike Auctions in Reading, Pennsylvania. If you’re not a big Japanese sportbike fan, this may just look like a standard middleweight Ninja. But the “K” models (built between 91-92) were homologation specials built so that Kawasaki could go racing in AMA Superbike. 500 examples were built, 142 …
Goldwing/Fiero Trike
Today’s jarring post is a “Fiero-powered Gold Wing Trike.”
Roland Sands Design Custom – 2007 KTM 525 EXC
Post Listing Update: This KTM did not get any action at the BIN of $25,000. This started as a KTM 525 EXC that had already been converted to a supermoto – then the owner dropped it off at Roland Sands Designs and asked them to make it into a cafe racer. RSD called it the “Café Moto concept” – what …
1986 Ducati 750 F1
Over on the auction site we’ve got a Ducati F1 race bike that is affectionately known as “Walter.” It was originally purchased from a Suzuki dealership in California in 1986 as a racer, then built by Bud Rodgers of Nevada to compete in AMA and AFM. A previous owner was told that it was the AFM Twins Champion in 1991.
2017 Honda Z50 50th Anniversary
Post Listing Update: This Z50 did not meet reserve despite 33 bids up to $9,400 on eBay in Port Washington, New York. Before the 125 Monkey was born, Honda announced that they were killing off the legendary Z50 model due to ever-tightening emissions regulations. They ended the run with 1,800 examples of a special 50th Anniversary model and they were …
Unexpected Hardtail Custom – 1980 Kawasaki KZ1000
Featuring a custom front end from a 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and hard tail conversion, this Kawasaki is unlike any other KZ1000 I’ve ever seen.
0 Miles – 2000 Bimota DB4 R2 Redbro
Japan’s Bimota importer was Red Baron (Redbro Racing), and they created three limited edition variants of the already-rare DB4 – the R1, R2, and R3. The “R” in the names stood for “Refine, Reborn, and Racing.” All bikes were powered by the 904cc engine from the Ducati SuperSport, which produced 80 horsepower and 60 pound feet of torque.
Flying Dragon – 1972 Honda CL350
Post Listing Update: This Flying Dragon was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown. In 1972 and 1973, Honda embraced the tie dye movement with an optional set of paintwork called the Flying Dragon. It was available for the CL350 and CL450 – here’s one of the former.
1997 Suzuki RMX250

Randy Hawkins had tremendous success with it in competition, winning five National Enduro titles with it before other manufacturers eventually caught up.
1976 Kawasaki KT250
Post Sale Update: This KT250 sold for the BIN of $3,900 on eBay in American Fork, Utah. Kawasaki’s first production trials motorcycle the KT250 was a much rarer sibling of the KX250 motocrosser.
1982 Honda CB900F
In the late 70s, Honda offered both a CB750F and a CB900F, but per their marketing department the US only got the 750 and Europe only got the 900. Both markets were upset about this because humans always think the grass is greener on the other side. It took a few years, but Honda eventually satisfied the US by bringing …
Restomod – 1976 Kawasaki KZ900
The successor to the Z1, Kawasaki’s KZ900 was sold as a reliable big bike that could tour or go fast, maybe even doing both at the same time! This example has been heavily modified – the question now is if you like the result more than the stock bike?
Chromed Out – 1999 Harley-Davidson Road King
Over the years, I’ve featured several examples of the Honda Z50 “Christmas Special”, notable for being chromed out. Well, it looks like someone’s gone the same route with the custom H-D.
