Flying Dragon – 1972 Honda CL350

Post Listing Update: This Flying Dragon was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.

In 1972 and 1973, Honda embraced the tie dye movement with an optional set of paintwork called the Flying Dragon. It was available for the CL350 and CL450 – here’s one of the former.

Apparently 4 colorways of the Flying Dragon were available, though none of them sold well. Of course that means that the bodywork is now expensive and rare! For more on the Flying Dragon and its odd “tie-dye” scheme, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics – it features Bike-urious reader Bob K!

This example has 16,007 miles and it was built in January of 1972. The seller notes that it has the headlight bowl from a 1969. It had “been sitting in a collection for years” so the seller made it a runner with a carb clean, new battery, tank clean, new fuel lines/filters, oil change, and new mirrors.
