A few weeks ago I shared an interesting side stand/center stand combination as part of a Guess That Bike post, and now we can take a better look at the whole machine. After many designs and iterations, Curtiss Motorcycles has announced their newest machine – the ONE. This week they updated their website, and now you can build your own. What do you think?

I’ve had the pleasure of recently speaking with the Curtiss team, and it’s clear that they’re focusing on something that’s easy to ride with a style you won’t find anywhere else in motorcycling. The components are impressive and some of the features are incredibly clever, such as the amount of adjustability for rider ergonomics thanks to a steering neck with eccentric adjusters that allow for adjustable rake and trail. Some of the numbers are staggering – claimed peak output of their axial flux electric motor are 217 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque, though they are currently limiting those to 120 hp and 147 lb-ft. The price is staggering, too.

Curtiss is initially offering two models – the base and the “Founders Edition.” The latter will be the first 15 models produced with a target delivery timeframe of this summer – it’ll set you back $115,000 (with a $30,000 deposit). Compare that to the base model, which will be $81,000 with a $9,000 deposit. Your extra $30k+ for the Founders Edition gets you unique badging, a numbered plaque, carbon fiber suspension, titanium chassis/suspension hardware, off-menu customization options, carbon fiber wheels, Horween horsehide seat/grips, and two “Future-Proof” battery upgrades – a factory program which allows customers to exchange the battery pack every five years to keep up with advancements in the field. You’ll also get two leather jackets, a certificate of authenticity and a custom oil painting by the designer, JT Nesbitt.

The pricing puts it out of my range, but I’m still very curious to hear what you think about this bike – let me know below!
