Post Sale Update: This Honda RC45 sold for $94,200 + 7% buyer’s fee = $100,794 after 83 bids on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.

The zero mile collection out of Arizona continues on the auction site with a US-spec Honda RC45. And when I say zero miles, I mean it – the trip meter is still halfway between 000.0 and 000.1!

Though it was sold between ’94 and ’99, the US only got the ’94 model. Just 700 models were created world wide (200 the first year for homologation purposes, 500 afterwards for Japanese customers) and it’s estimated that 50 were originally imported to the US. Some consider this bike to the best Superbike ever built, thanks in part to the fact that it made over 190 horsepower in race trim (the US spec was 101, European was 118). For more information, check out this road test from Rennie Scaysbrook at Cycle News.

This example (VIN: JH2RC4501RM000052) is still on the original MSO from when it was assigned to Hollink Motorsports in Spencerport, New York. It somehow remained unsold until 2002, when the first owner acquired it and brought it home with him to Irvine, California. The current owner acquired it in December of 2010. Not much else to say – it’s just a rare opportunity to try and acquire a 0-mile RC45.
