In Japan, Small Displacement by AbhiLeave a Comment

A utility-focused variant of the Pocke, the Vogel (German for “bird”) was a minibike that competed with Honda’s monkey bikes.

It featured 8 inch wheels, a 2.6 gallon fuel tank, and luggage racks up front and in the back. The handlebars were collapsible to facilitate transport in a car. The 49cc 2-stroke motor was good for about 3 horsepower, and the bike weighed 125 pounds. For a little more information, check out Yamaha’s official page on the model.

This example (VIN: 4U1-209022) impressively has just under 10,000 miles and while it’s said to run well there is a lot of rust. The tank has been repainted in the original color and there is a tear in the back of the seat.
