NCR Engine in Greece – 1978 Ducati 900SS

In Italy, Sport by Abhi1 Comment

Post-Sale Update: After 29 bids on eBay, this 900SS sold for $21,600.

NCR was named after its founders, Giorgio Nepoti, Rino Caracchi and Luigi Rizzi. The NCR name became synonymous with Ducati after Mike Hailwood won the Isle of Man on a NCR prepped Ducati 900, and it lives on even though Rizzi left early on and the other two founders retired in 2001. This classic 900SS is claimed to have a NCR-prepped engine, built to the tuning house’s specifications. Impressive if true, but I’d love to see some verification.

Ducati 900SS NCR Engine - Veglia Tach

This bike has a NOS tank to complement the original 40mm Dell’Orto carb, Veglia tach, Marzocchi shocks, and impressively, the original Conti exhaust. It comes with Greek paperwork and it’s said to have a known history over the two previous owners.
