Post Sale Update: This LeMans sold for $17,635 after 27 bids on eBay in Palm City, Florida.

In Moto Guzzi’s long history, there are several models that have stood the test of time. But for many, the ultimate offering is the first gen LeMans. Said fans may appreciate this example, as it has just 2,049 miles and it’s never been titled before.

High compression pistons and 36mm Dell’Ortos helped the 850 put down 71 horsepower, good for a top speed of around 135 miles per hour. For more on the 850 LeMans, check out this write-up on Motorcycle Classics.

This example (VIN: 074654) accumulated most of its 2,049 miles on a dealer plate. The seller acquired it with less than 400 miles on it from a Guzzi dealership that closed down, rode it for two summers, then put it in storage when he “got married and raised a family.” It’s all original (yes, even the tires), and the only issues are understandable age-related cosmetic ones – except for the light switch cover, which has come off. The parts are still there and it presumably would be a relatively easy fix. If you’re going to ride this, you’ll need to go through the carbs, replace the battery, most if not all of the hoses, etc. Either way, it’s an interesting find! The seller also notes that he was able to “remove all LeMans itesm from the closed dealership”, so you get some extra goodies like a workshop manual, parts manual, unopened tool kit, etc.
