Post Sale Update: This CBR929RR sold for $9,900 after 55 bids on eBay in Chicago, Illinois.

Technically the fifth generation of the CBR900RR, the 929 was a solid improvement on a legendary motorcycle but by this point Yamaha and Suzuki had released new versions of the R1 and GSX-R1000, leaving Honda lagging behind. Because of that, the CBR929RR didn’t sell nearly as well as the Yamaha or Suzuki, but outright performance won’t matter in this case as this bike is destined for life on display.

The 929 had several upgrades over the 919, most notably fuel injection. It also got a new titanium exhaust, upside down forks, bigger front brakes, and a 17″ front wheel (up from 16″). At the crank, the new motor put out 150 horsepower at 11,500 rpm.

From a collectibility standpoint, this CBR (VIN: JH2SC4404YM005490) has a plus in that it’s from the first year of production. However, the yellow/black livery wasn’t as popular as the white/red. I’m interested to see what the market thinks this will be worth! Find this 929 for sale in Chicago, Illinois with bidding up to $6,001 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay.
