No Reserve – 1979 Honda CBX Custom

Post Listing Update: Apparently the seller didn’t like where the auction was going as he pulled it off of eBay for being “lost or broken.”

From the same seller of the set of CBXs from each model year comes a wild custom CBX with go-fast parts, a longer swingarm, and a six-into-six exhaust.

The seller of this example (VIN: CB12000527) doesn’t include any specifics, just saying it has a “ton of very expensive modifications and upgrades.” I don’t understand why people list a bike like this without stating what the upgrades are as buyer’s won’t see everything and may not appreciate the full value, but it’s not my money. At a glance I see significant modifications to the intake, cooling, controls, suspension, brakes, and wheels. It’s got a slight dragster aesthetic with the longer swingarm, and it sure seems like it’d be fun in a straight line. This hasn’t been ridden since the restoration/customization so you should expect to sort out some minor issues (including the seller’s vague mention that the “bike needs electrical work done to get it started. A brand new gel battery was installed but has to be connected properly.”)

But it’s no reserve, so we’ll see what the market thinks it’s worth. Find this custom CBX for sale in Sylmar, California with bidding up to $7,600 here on eBay.
