No Reserve – 2002 Aprilia RS125 Project

Over on the auction site we’ve got something that reminds me how popular little two-stroke tiddlers can be – just a day into the week-long auction and bidding has already risen above $3k.

Introduced in 1992 with a twenty-year production run, the RS125 was what European teenagers dreamed of when growing up thanks to the sportsbike looks and sensation despite the diminutive engine and restricted-license-friendly output numbers. It got a revised Rotax motor in 1996 and a facelift in 1999. The 124.8 cc engine produced 11 kW (15 hp) in stock form, though once de-restricted it could easily put out twice that number.

This example (VIN: ZD4MPB0002S013559) has 6,098 kilometers (3,789 miles) and it comes out of an estate sale – it’s been sitting for several years. We briefly went through it and verified that it runs, but it will need a battery/tires/service before it’s ready to terrorize the streets again. It’s got a few scratches in the bodywork and it’s missing the mirrors, but otherwise this could be a fun runabout that’s offered on a bill of sale.

Find this RS125 for sale in Santa Monica, California with bidding up to $3,100 here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.
