Owned by Brock Yates – 1987 Yamaha YSR50

This YSR50 has an interesting history, as it was gifted to Brock Yates (the former editor of Car and Driver and creator of the Cannonball Run). It hung from the wall at Brock’s pub in Wyoming, New York until recently, and now it’s passed through the hands of a couple of people as a collectible.

Hanging in the bar!

Per the seller, “After [Brock’s] passing in 2016, the bike was eventually handed over to a dear family friend who handled most of Brock’s personal car collection. I purchased the bike from Brock’s wife via this gentleman. I have a handwritten letter from Brock’s wife on Cannonball letterhead giving a little bit of a background story on the bike. I also have the manila tag that comes on the bike when new, it is preserved in a plastic bag, but the string where the tag hung from is still attached to the bike.”

It has 2 miles and an interesting history (if you’re a big Yates fan, I guess).

Find this YSR for sale in Batavia, Illinois with bidding up to $4,000 and the reserve not yet met here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions. 5% of the sale and buyer’s fee will be donated to the Brock Yates Memorial Fund for the Alzheimer’s Association.
