Post Sale Update: this CB1100F sold for $2,607 after 39 bids on eBay.

The Honda CB1100F is cool enough by itself thanks to the fact that Cycle World called it the fastest stock bike they had ever tested (over 140 miles per hour) in January of 1983, but I think this one is even more interesting due to the period aftermarket Greer fairing.

Based out of Costa Mesa, California, GREER Sport Fairings had a variety of aerodynamic products for motorcycles and automobiles. One of their most notable achievements was the “High Mileage Streamliner Bike”, which company president Jerry Greer and Chuck Guy rode from Los Angeles to New York on just 14.8 gallons of gas! This looks to be their “Mach-1” model. For more information, check out this scan of a Greer brochure hosted on Duane Asherman’s site.

This specific bike is said to be “not perfect but in good condition.” In addition to the fairing, it has a Corbin seat, Supertrapp exhaust, and Dyna ignition system. The motor has just over 18,000 miles and there’s some bubbling in the paint and general wear on the fairing. The seller doesn’t have much to say about the condition of the motor, so as always you should get an inspection before you buy!
