Post Sale Update: After 23 bids on eBay, this incredible Honda sold for $8,800 on eBay…to a Bike-urious reader!

Well, this is quite a listing – and it ends soon, so hurry up! According to the seller, in the inaugural Suzuka 18 hour race of 1964, Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura campaigned two motorcycles: a Honda 305 that won the race, and this 250cc CB72 Hawk that was running second before it broke a valve spring and had to retire. The seller says that he bought it from someone who purchased it from Pops in September of 1964. What a history!

The seller shares a video from his first time starting it up:

Unfortunately, the original hand formed aluminum fairing was sold off in the late 60s, but it still has the original DID alloy wheels and Yokohoma tires that it came with when it was sold in ’64. The seller installed a NOS Yoshimura 250 race kit, which included race cams, valve springs, and oversize race valves. It’s also got a new camchain and the original modified crank.
