Race or Show? – Honda 200cc Vintage Race Bike

Based on a 1968 Honda CL175 engine, this bike has been prepared for track duty. The frame is a Taylor, the tank is aluminum, the body a CR93 Benly race replica. The engine is upped to 194cc with lots of go-fast mods in place—Norris cam, larger valves, ported heads, lightened clutch and crankshaft and the list goes on.

The seller provides no history of the bike, but lists it at zero miles and it does not appear to have turned a wheel on a racetrack. The workmanship looks to be to a very high level—this little jewel would not look out of place on a display podium. But it was obviously built to be used in anger, though I would hate to be the one to slide it down the tarmac. What’s the value of such a beautiful race-ready custom build? I honestly have no clue, but find it in Siletz, Oregon with bidding up to $1,325 and the reserve not yet met
