Post Sale Update: This XN85 sold for the BIN of $7,495.

On the market for less than a year, Suzuki XN85 was the first factory bike to feature a 16-inch front wheel – previously reserved for race bikes. That wheel, combined with low clip-ons and a Suzuki Full Floater rear suspension made it a nearly peerless handler for the time. It also featured a low pressure turbo that helped boost power to 85 horsepower (hence the XN85 moniker). Take a good look, because you probably won’t see one of these in person – just 300 of the 1,153 produced were brought to the US.

Suzuki XN85 - Turbo

MSRP for the XN85 was $4,700, and for your dollars you got a bike about which Motorcyclist magazine said “Nothing works better in the corners than the Suzuki XN85.” The Full Floater rear suspension was Suzuki’s first application, and it helped create a bike that turned like nothing else. It was even possible to scrape the headers, though it took a truly skilled rider to make that happen. You could expect 200 miles to a tank and a quarter mile time of 12.3 seconds, not bad for a bike that weighed 551 pounds wet. A bike in excellent shape is worth about 3-4k, and something in absolute mint condition is worth about double…if you can find one. Want to learn more? Suzuki XN85 - Right Side

This specific Suzuki XN85 is in very good shape, with just 3,883 miles on it. It’s been with the same owner for 20 years, who has kept it in his personal collection, and apparently barely rode it. It seems to be ready to go, and the only minor flaws are some faint cosmetic issues. Whether you’re a Suzuki fan or not, this is definitely a rare bike that deserves a new, passionate owner.
