Post Listing Update: This 750GT did not meet reserve despite 33 bids up to $17,800.

Ian Falloon doesn’t think model years are the best way to differentiate when it comes to the Ducati 750GT. Instead, he says there are three “production stages” that differ significantly enough to be considered separate. This “third production stage” 750GT was restored in 2009 and it has some features from earlier stages because the seller wasn’t looking for originality, he was looking to make it the “ultimate rider”. Do you think he succeeded?

The 748cc twin produced 60 horsepower, which was good enough to push the 407 pound (dry) bike up to 125 miles per hour. Original MSRP was $1,995. Want to learn more? Check out a lengthy write-up here on Motorcycle Classics about what makes the 750GT special.

The most noteworthy difference is the bodywork, which is from a ’72 model. The motor was rebuilt from the crank up by Mike Duzick of Mikmar Motors (now closed), and just 513 miles have been put on the bike since the work was performed in 2009. Other notable features include rebuilt wheels, new Conti exhaust, a restored seat, new electronic ignition, new Avon Roadrider tires, and more.
