The Ducati “Desmoto” by Futuri Motion Tech

Futuri Motion Tech is a one man shop run by Mark van Veggel in the Netherlands, and he recently made waves with his radical transformation of a 2008 Ducati Multistrada 1100DS into the lightweight supermoto in front of you that he calls the “Desmoto.”

Per this article on BikeEXIF, “Mark decided to build the entire motorcycle around an Acerbis X-Seat…because it offered the perfect Supermoto line and grip.” Check out that article for more details, but highlights include 1 of 15 aluminum frames that were built for a Ducati 999 and an OEM 999 swingarm (not much Multistrada left in this one). The engine got Pistal high-comp 98mm pistons, Kaemna cams, Carrillo connecting rods, S4RS throttle bodies, larger intake valves, and ported heads. Other modifications include magnesium wheels from a 749S, ISR brakes, 3D printed bodywork, and titanium bolts. It has Ohlins TTX forks and shock, with an interesting proprietary controller to adjust the shock.

At the end of the day, the appeal of a bike like this to me is the power/weight ratio. Mark claims that this makes 112 horsepower and 90 foot-pounds of torque at the rear wheel, and the whole package weighs just 310 pounds wet. I think that’s quite impressive, though the asking price does put a damper on things…

Find the Desmoto for sale in Tillburg, Holland for £47,009 (roughly $63,196 USD) here on The Bike Shed’s Custom Classifieds.
