“The Nickel Peeper” – 1950s Triumph Bonneville Custom

In Custom, England by AbhiLeave a Comment

Over on the auction site we’ve got a fun custom built by Choppahead Kustom Cycles called “The Nickel Peeper”.

Details on the build can be found in this Iron & Air article as the bike was featured in Issue 10, but the broad strokes are that it’s a pre-unit Bonneville 650cc drivetrain in a blend of a 50 and a 55 Triumph frame. There’s also a mix of Harley-Davidson Big Twin parts (springer front end and 16″ wheels), as well as a very short exhaust. Per Jay Medieros and Truth (the guys behind Choppahead), the goal was to create something that looks “like it could have been a factory bike from the early ’40s.” Do you think they succeeded?
