Based out of Galesburg, Kansas, the Shaw Manufacturing Company produced engines to attach to bicycles to convert them to motorcycles, among other products.
The engine is a 2.5 horsepower unit which was capable of 90 miles per gallon while propelling the bike up to about 40 miles per hour. The engine has been rebuilt and it has a modern carb on it. The originally wooden wheels have been updated to steel.
