Post Sale Update: This P135 sold for a BIN of $17,000 on eBay in Oceanside, California.

In 1936, Peugeot introduced the P135 (350cc) as a lower-cost variant to their 350/500 “Grande Puissance” (“high power”) lineup, which was quite expensive to make, and therefore sell. A HL (Haute Luxe or High Luxury) option added extra chrome on the tank and tool boxes as well as high exhausts.

The 350cc air-cooled single had overhead valves and pushed 14 horsepower through a 3-speed transmission. It weighed just 320 pounds and had a claimed top speed of 68 miles per hour.

The seller of this example calls it “the Bugatti of motorcycles with its French Art Deco design.” It was restored twenty years ago and has been on display in a collection since. It’s offered on a bill of sale only.
