1960 Harley-Davidson KR

In America, Race by AbhiLeave a Comment

Replacing the WR, the Harley-Davidson KR was the American firm’s last flathead. It was a successful racer for nearly two decades, though less than 500 were built over 15 years.

Often used as a flat track racer (in which case the swinging arm rear suspension was replaced with a rigid rear), this bike competed in AMA Class C. It was superseded by the Iron XR750. For all kinds of information on the KR, check out this site dedicated to the KR/KRTT racers and the bikes that evolved from them.

Harley-Davidson KR - Engine

This specific KR (VIN: 60KR2052) has been with the owner (a Harley dealer from 1974 to 2003) for 49 years. The bike was in storage for a while but it’s claimed to be in good running condition and the seller just feels he’s too old to enjoy it any more. The sale will include 6 rear wheel sprockets and 11 transmission sprockets – play with ratios to your heart’s content!
