1964 Honda Dream Police

In Japan, Standard by AbhiLeave a Comment

I always thought the Dream was an ugly bike, particularly due to the square headlight and front fender. With that said, its impact on Honda is undeniable, and this Honda Dream Police variant is just too cool not to share.

Honda Dream Police - Cockpit

The Dream had a 305cc parallel twin that produced 23 horsepower, good enough to get the 350 pound bike up to 86 miles per hour. Oh yeah, you also got whitewalls. For more on the Dream, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics.

Also, because I can’t help myself:

This specific Honda Dream Police is based on the touring model, and it has hard bags and a windshield, both of which say “Police”. You also get the siren and red lights. It has less than 12,000 miles, and the seller says it ‘runs strong and starts easily.’ He also adds the following amusing comment:

This bike is now 50 years old so please be aware it is not “New”. I am over 50 myself and find that there are always some things that need attention.

You’ll need to fix the speedo cable and adjust the brakes, and in the long term this bike will need clutch plates. But who cares? It’s a 50 year-old Japanese police bike!
